Belfast, Hull, Malta, Bergen and Rotterdam are all in the running to host Euro Pride in 2023.

Since 1992 the event has been held every year in cities including Warsaw, Paris, Rome, London, Amsterdam and Riga.

It's a difficult time for Pride organisers worldwide as events are cancelled and postponed. Some events are still hoping to go ahead if the pandemic calms down in time.

Euro Pride 2020 was due to take place in Thessaloniki, Greece in June but it has been postponed with organisers hoping to reschedule the celebration for later in the year.

There's no Euro Pride next year, and the event is scheduled to take place in Belgrade, Serbia in 2022.

Bids will be presented to the European pride Organisers Association in Oslo later this year.

The association this week praised the ambition of the teams bidding to be the chosen host.

The Euro Pride 2023 host is expected to be announced on October 3rd.
